I realize that what i'm about to say may sound very stupid but I hope someone can give me advice. I'm building a 454 bb as a street driven blown motor but taking it to the track occasionaly as well. What's the use if u can't beat it a few times on the track. ANY WAY IT'S A 4 BOLT MAIN WITH AFTER MARKET RODS, TRW BLOWER PISTONS AND FORGED CRANKSHAFT AND SFI APPROVED BALANCER, BLOCK HAS BEEN O-RINGED, PUNCHED OUT .030 OVER NOW 468CID, WITH A COMP CAMS hyd. camshaft (AND SPRINGS TO MATCH) THE CAM SPECS OUT @280ADV. dur and 232 & 237 dur.@.050, .547" in. and ex. vavle lift w/114 degree lobe seperation, blower is 8-71 with a planned boost between 6.5 to 8lbs of boost, two Carters 750 cfm preped for a blown motor. HOWEVER I DID NOT PAY CLOSE ENOUGH ATTENTION TO THE HEADS. I'M on A BUDGET AND I HAVE DONE MOST EVERYTHING MY SELF EXCEPT FOR BALANCING & ROD FITMENT, AND 3 ANGLE VALVE JOB AND O-RINGING THE BLOCK. THE GUY AT THE HEAD SHOP SAID I DID A VERY GOOD JOB OF PORTING, POLISHING AND PORT MATCHING THE HEADS FOR A NOVICE. He said, "THAT SHOULD REALLY WAKE UP THOSE SMALL VALVE HEADS ALOT" and I said what do YOU MEAN SMALL VALVE HEADS? AND HE SAID SORRY FRIEND THOSE ARE NOT 2.19 OR 2.25 INTAKE VALVES, BUT 2.06 in. 1.72"ex. HEADS..........GRRRRRRR PLEASE SAY IT AINT SO. THE CASTING NO. IS 3904390 OVAL PORT. ANY WAY IS THERE ANY HOPE? HE SAID FOR ME NOT TO MAKE A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLE HILL, HE SAID BECAUSE IT'S GOING IN A LITE CAR ANY WAY AND WITH GOOD FLOWING EXHAUST IT WILL PERFORM FINE AND THAT ON HORSE POWER VS THE SAME SETUP WITH EDELBROCK HEADS I'M ONLY GONA BE DOWN ABOUT 25 TO 38 HP WITH THE SMALL VAVLE HEADS, AND I AINT GONNA NOTICE IT ESPECIALY SINCE THE TRACK I GO TO IS ONLY AN 1/8 MILE STRIP. IS HE RIGHT OR SHOULD I DUMP THE HEADS AND START ALL OVER AGAIN? PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME SOME SOUND STUFF ANY ONE OUT THERE GOT ANY IDEAS. I FEEL LIKE A JACK-ASS.
