Crane Cam for 454
Hi Guys!
I am wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the Crane Cam Part#138731 camshaft. I am considering putting one in the 454 I am building currently for my '35 5 window coupe.
My questions are: does it have sufficient vacuum to run Power Brakes? Is it truly liveable on the street? Do you have reasonable off-idle response? I will be using a 700R4 with a 22-2500 Stall, 3.55 ratio 9", 29.5" rear tires. I already have purchased the Edelbrock aluminum 454-O heads, Gen VI 454 (Roller cam), and am not only looking for performance and that "sound", but want it to be reaonable (not too big).
Spec: Int. .587
Ex. .610
DUR @.50 IN. .226
EX. .236
Anybody out there tried this cam?
Thanks,
Craig

Not experienced with this cam in particular, but based on the duration at .050, I would imagine it would make great power in your combo...When your dreams turn to dust, Vacuum!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
