i think thats too much for me....
yes i do but you build the engine to the job and your money why build a 427 ? when you need a 454 block ? and at that point build a 496?:whacked:
i plan on building it with a 454 block and 396 crank.
this is my point why ? a 454 or 496 why a 427? the 454 or the 489or 496 will work goodQuote:

hey pat why do you question me all the time? why this and that? look man im asking for help, if you want than help me out , if not then dont. every time ive posted on a big block, your like why, when you can do this or that....... or this is better , i dont understand you . i want a 427 for my elky , they have great power and and it will be for my car. thats why i want it. why do you build the engines you do? oh you have 496? why? why dont you go with a 502? its bigger , more power and all round i think its better............ so help if you want to but if not, please stop trying to complicate my situation.
Then build it if it's what you want..... Other options might offer better performance for the same $$$$ spent....but that doesn't mean you can't build what you want...
im looking for a good streetable engine with some power. 450 hp and 500lbs tq. i know a 427 can get that done. and i know a 454 can get it done also. but its not what i want. just looking for some build specs on 427s.
To make 450 hp, I would start with a 9.5:1 compression ratio and cam it for a redline of 5500-6000 rpm. Throw on a set of decent flowing heads and you've got yourself an every day street performer that will run on whatever gas you throw at it.
well you ask i am telling you. what to do if you do not not like it tuff:LOL: if you want a street driving engine any thing can be made to a street engine on ci i guess i have been buliding big blocks for over 20 years and had done well over 100+ of them in helping or building them so build what you want but there is not one thing i can think of that makes a 427 big block better that a454 so do what you want. and i will not wast any more time with you. YOU are making this complicated buy useing a 454 block and a 396 crank and using a old 427 pistons that will cost more than a 454? if you have this stuff then use it. but i thinking you do not? so at this point why not find a 454 rebuild it and be done with it. i never said a502?? find were i said this? the block you want to use to build this 427 is a 454 block less you have $$ to buy a real 427 block so?? why would you go down on the cid? and then throw out the 454 crank and buy a 366to427 crank ?and as far as me i am done . i try to help you you ask and did not like what i told you. there is many that would like my help and time . so good day .and what i build ? well with a 4.250 crank about 20+ of them and a 4 inch crank to many to count . 376 crank 5 or so i have runned 396 to 630+ big blocks the street for over 20 years so i told you that the 454-468 or the 489-496 would be the best for the money this is not complicated:whacked:Quote:
