I just bought a new oil pump because I distorted the case while installing the pickup tube!!! A relatively inexpensive lesson. Now I am installing the Crank Damper and got it started with a large socket and some light taps. I had thought to drive it on with the bolt and my air impact wrench. Thought I'd better check before I had another, very expensive, lesson.
Doesn't GM make a tool to use the bolt and seat the Damper? Thanks...
they probably do , but i've always clean the shaft and hub good, put a little grease on the shaft, and using the HB bolt to get it on. tighten the bolt a little and then tap the HB with a hammer, keep tightening and tapping and it should go on. :HMMM:Quote:
