any good write ups on this? on the net that is..lol
A lot of things have been written up on big block chevy oiling systems and we have a wealth of very good engine builders in this site, some of the things you can research on the web or even right here are some of the following mods,
edge orfice lifters
oiling restrictors
oil pan baffles and deep sumps
swinging pickups
and a whole plethra of other stuff that fellow members can expound on
im talking more like oil feedback prep..etc
well you need to do this and a bit more if you want good drain back there is not realy any oil issues with a big block there is a small amount of things i do:D
Golly!! Beaver! I can comb my DA in that thing!!

grind the oil valley hole to a tear drop roll the top of the top of the cam boss if you look at my block. you will see the front and the back in the valley how i made this smooth you can drill one 3/16hole in the back by the last hole in the valley this helps drain back and helps add oil to the cam gear and i grind in the oil rails i round all sharp spots i use first stone and then go to sanding drumsQuote:

carbide burrs, stones, and sanding rolls are my freinds.
i did not do it to this engine but have them that were done this way and can send you a photos of the front of the block were the chain set is and were to work on it. i can not get photos on here any more. i do not know how to make them small . so if you pm me and give me your e-mail i will send it to you and show were to drill mark on the block i have. i try not to use burrs much any more.i come to like stone and mx wheel and drums , it seams every time i fire up a burr bit i get steel / iron / alum. pick out of my skin or eyes:CRY:Quote:
