This is a "Pro-Street" engine.
I would of thought the pump gas statment would have given it a way.

A Pro Street engine does not need a set of of $3600 heads or a set of $1,200 shaft mount roller rockers or a set of $800 pistons with a hyd. roller cam.
I don't think you understand what I am trying to build for my customer.
When a customer gives me a budget and I try to stay with in the budget and give him the most bang for the buck.

We may not agree on what to do with this engine but I think we can all agree " Cool Hand Luke" is one heck of a good movie.

Eric, what was the outcome of this build. Did you get the required result. How did it respond with the 365c heads

With the hyd. roller cam we where able to go into the 675 area but we ran out of cam.
We switched to a mech. roller and we went right up to the 750 area.
He has since added an intercooler this should allow us to run about 2 more lbs. of boost and push it over the 800 hp mark with some tuning.
Time will tell but I doubt it will make 900 hp on pump gas.
Of course on race gas it will but that is not what he wants.
In a street car with that much hp 50 hp one way or another is not a big thing to me.

Super Chevy did a write awhile ago with a 496 and a shootout between a 8/71 and vortech unit. They managed to put out 900hp with both on pump gas. They had AFR 315cc heads and a 255/262 114lsa solid roller on it with 7psi.
