belts coming off in oz!
I've got a 427 camaro from USA imported to Australia. the belts fall off all the time. pulleys seem to aligned. not sure if i have the right belts. it has aircond and power steering. most off the time they stay on until about 4500 but today they came off at 2000 ish. belts are tight! anyone have any info they could give please. not too many mechanics in oz work on american cars!

Are the belts running down inside the pulley grooves or sticking out? If the alignment on the belts is correct, you might also want to check and make sure none of the pulleys are bent, or none of the brackets are loose...

This is strange but I learned it first hand. Make sure the pulleys are not rusted in the grooves. This leads to high friction and belt temps and makes them come off!
