427 innards
Okay, I bought the 427 tall deck truck block that Mooneye777 had for sale,[very nice piece, exactly what he said it was!] It has a beefy forged steel crank in it that I plan to re-use, stock rods and cast 4-ring pistons. I was thinking about having the rods shot-peened to make them a little stronger, and going to a forged 3-ring piston. Do you guys have any opinions on the best piston to run? Also, are there any opinions on shot peening? Is it worth it, or should I just buy aftermarket rods? Keep in mind, I don't have a great deal of money to spend on it at this time.
Thanx in advance fellas,
AdamI ain't dumb, I just ain't been showed a whole lot!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
