o crap ! the fing pickup is 3/4 he must have gave me a standerd pickup with the extra deep pan :CRY: and my shop guy welded it in :CRY::CRY:

Take the pump back to him, tell him to do it right! Don't let him weld it until you check the clearance to the bottom of the pan....Quote:

1/4" Is not good eough. I saw a demo engine with clear oil pan and clear oil pickup tube. At 1/4" from the bottom of the pan will show some cavitation (Tiny Bubbles in the Oil)in the oil. But 5/16 is the minium safe distance.Quote:
