Questions on these heads.

Is this a good head for a primarily street 454 .030 over motor. 10:1 approx 240 duration, high 5-600 lift, 110 LSA solid cam. 66 Chevelle Th400 3.73 rear, 3800 lb car w driver,

On a 66 chevelle what are the chances of header fittment issues?

I just cant bring myself to re work my 781 heads to the approximate tune of $1000, so Im lloking to purchase aftermarket.

the ex port is up 3/4 inch ? your headers should work. i would use them. roller cam?

Not positive on solid or solid roller. So many solid roller lifter failures I read about including crower, Isky Red Zones, crane, Comp all of them when it comes to street driving. So Im leaning toward solid.

Here are the specs, and always willing to list to you and your input Pat...your opinion is always appretiated

Solid: 276/284 243/251 2 .050 586/600 lift 110 LSA

Solid Roller: 273/279 243/249 655/663 110 LSA

both are Lunati Cams. Not ;loyal to any one brand...just liked what I saw figuring a 3000 stall and 3.73 rear gears in a 66 Chevelle...figured it to be streetable and yet pull down some fun power for the track a few times a year...will possible add 100hp plate system as well.

hyd roller will work fine if you used a soild the crower with pin oiling are very good and crane you have to watch them. low rpm s low oil splash for a small cam any of the ones you list will work you just can not put them in they need to be wash in thinner a blow all the grease and set in oil before you put them in i have used soild rollers on the street for 20 years never have i lost one but i watch them and i not sit back till they fail i use erson cams .the roller cam looks ok i would not run a flat soild over a hyd or a soild roller cam has much better durability then flat lifter cam

****The above statment confuses me Pat. No questioning you at all but I have known some solid cams and lifters that have gone 100,000 miles in stock to moderate performance big block chevys...I didnt think rollers lasted that long. Please explain.

not at your lift and no zinc in any oil to help your flat lifters .i know of 100.000 mile hyd roller lifter cams to. i will stay with a roller any time do what you want
