Hey Everyone!! I sold my engine a few weeks ago which was a 555ci (NA) and im confused!!. I dunno what to put in my car yet!! but all what I want is alot of HP and TQ, Im thinking of building a 632ci with 10:1 - 12:1 CR and a fair cam and i want it natural no NOS no Force inductions.
what u guys think? any ideas??
Guess it would depend a lot on what else the car has for equipment, and what it's intended use is.... 12:1 CR isn't a real good plan for a street engine.

and i got a 9"ford and a coan th400 and im gonna get a converter later.
i have a 632 for the street it a 10to1 engine it works fine and had a 548 14to8 that was a blast but the 632 is a monster i used other to 573 12to1 and 548 10to1 cr+10 pounds of boost blown .and about 10 or so smaller big blocks all from 12to1 to 10to1

hard to say the tq or hp never dyno it built it off the 573 that was over 780 hp and 700 qt at below 6500 that was re work 861 bow ties and the 632 is the same head but made by eldelbrocks super vics there are better like bmf or dart 355 cnc heads as for were it makes power for the 632 it comes on at 2500 and pulls pulls pulls
If you don't have a "back-halfed" car you are just spinning your tires.
In other words a 496 is plenty.
you can hook more then a 496 but with a smaller tire you will need much work to the rear end and front end car .i would not build a low cr 496 over a bigger 565to582 or tall deck 632 low cr engine and front end weight is a lot to do with how the car works my donovan 632 works better then most would think but that may not be his cup of tea then he should build a low cr 496 and tell ever one it bigger it will take more then just a big engine and a good stall there is lot of parts that have not one thing to do with hp or tq .i would he a hard time going back to a smaller engine but that could just be me:whacked:

If you go "tall-deck" then I would go 598.
The 632 cost more because of the crankshaft.
The other problem with the larger 632 is you will need to spend some money on good heads if you want to make the horsepower.
On the larger 632 a set of 345 Dart or 345 AFR head won't be enough.
Even if you get them CNC'd it still won't be enough to feed an engine this size.
I would look at a set of the new Man-Eater heads from Brodix in the smaller 377 cc oval port size or a set of BMF in the 385 cc size,or a set of the Pro-Filer heads in about the same size.
I've 3 sets of heads already and i dont want to spend anymoney on heads, i've Dart Iron Eagle 345cc, Dart Big cheif and Dart 355.Quote:

I would build the 598 instead of the 572.
The 598 has the 4.60 bore will help to "un-shroud" the valves better.
632 is a srp shelf piston and the 355 darts will work fine for the street lower rpms .i have built 580s and that will take a custom piston 9.800 deck 6.385 rod and 4.375 crank bore 4.600the 385 bmf are abit over kill for street use if your are building a pump gas engine if not then go right up to a 800 lifte cam them bigger heads will not be that good at lower rpm with a 700 lift cam i would build a 632 before a 598:3dSMILE: the 572 i built that back 20 years ago that was a big deal then:LOL: yes i would not wast my time with one now :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

I.M.O,. a street 632 can take a 385 BMF or the new Brodix 377 Head Hunter heads if it see's over 6,000 rpm's.
Scott Shaifiroff also thinks his street 632 with 10.5 to 1 comp. ratio that see's peak hp at 6,200 rpm's and a peak torque of 845 at 4,600 rpms needs a CNC ported Dart Pro 2 head with a port volume of 380 cc's.
well i have 375 cc and do not think i would run that much head for the street for i have a 10to1 632 i drive so i think i know ?? going from a 350 bmf to a 385 bmf at a lower lift cam mild 700s you will not see any thing on the EX side and may be 10 cfms with the bigger 385 heads but he has a set of big chiefs just used them and run the big cam and hi ch and throw every thing out the window:D

a hair bit bigger on lift 740-730 and @050 cam whould be abit small if added in running lash intake and 268 and 270 @050 on a 108to 110 or lower ch 112to114
should i go custom grind or there are cams like these available?
yes i work on my customs and have what i want gound there are not uncomon grinds so some one may have something on a shelf going this big of a crank you may want to do a 4-7 swap i have some out there :3dSMILE:Quote:
