I didn't include the sleeve in my measure ---it would probably be at 6 11/16 if I had done that.
Dave-----I'm old enough and raced enough stuff that it doesn't matter what brand they call em---most engines don't use any stock oem parts anyway

take a photo of the back of the block were the dizzy sits and snap a shot of your dizzy. drop a tape in and give me the measurement from the oil pump slot to the intake flat were the dizzy sits and i will have number for you. i have some blocks i get measurements off at the shop and are you sure you do not have a tall deck?????
just tried another pump , same as the last one ,melling 77, and it seems to be about 5 or 6 mm longer in the shaft, just measured from the shaft slot to the dizzy base on my other motor, a small block and that only seems to engage bout 5 mm, so....... it looks like the first pump i tried was a reject! i suppose 5 mm is enough for the shaft to engage? the small blocks been run like that for bout 2 years !
