7.4 L 454 EFI Gen V performance increase
Noob to this forum. I have a 1990 GMC K3500 Dually that seems a under powered when I'm pulling my 40' 5th wheel. I've been trying to find info on how to perk it up some. I'm thinking: headers, dual exhaust, hi-output coil and a spacer between the throttle body and manifold. Currently, the engine is bone stock and runs good. I looked up the output: 230 hp / 365 ft/lb torque. Does anyone have experience with this 454? Can you make recommendations? What kind of increase am I looking at with the above mods?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
MoralDK
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
