not new to the site but new to 454's

    Hey guys,

Ive been reading up on this site for several months now. So I said heck with it and finally registered.

I am the proud new owner of a 454 w/ a 400 turbo tranny. This summer, I bought an old 79 scottsdale 3/4 ton for 300 bucks. pulled the motor and tranny. kept some other things off the truck like the radiator and rear, junked the truck and got 200 bucks. so i got all that for a 100 bucks

My buddy has some spair parts and we plan on doing a rebuild. the motor will be put in a mud bog truck.

heres what were going to do...

.60 over bore (friend owns a machine shop w/bore). free!
    rings. speedpro or total seal
    wiseco forged flattop pistons. free!
    steel rods. free!
cam (unsure of specs as of now. maybe someone can help me)
    750 cfm edelbrock. free!
    edelbrock performer intake. ebay
    stock oval port heads
    cheap set of summit headers
I'll probably buy the full MSD ignition kit for electrical. jegs

we may or may not puta small shot of no2 on her. thats still up in the air

welp thats going to be my setup. does it sound okay? I plan on turning around 5500 rpmz. with all that said how much hp/torque do u think i can make with this?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated

    thanks,

    Ross

ps. the pistons, rods, and carb are used, but in good shape. they have been donated. keep in mind Im on a poor mans budget
