454 cooling question
My 454 is not running yet but it's .030 over and I dont want any cooling issues. I will be running one of Walkers Z series radiators but I was wondering if anyone recommends drilling the 3 lower cooling holes in the block to help with cooling. My engine is on the stand so would be easy to do. The heads already have the holes so I would think it would help, but is it worth the trouble.
thanks!

i have done it many times with and with out added deck holes . race stuff its worth it even most mild builds i done it in cars that were rebuilds customers never said they ran cooler it helps but not really some thing your gong to see .but you must do it if you used the fel pro 1037 and the marine head gasketIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
