Are there better 2wd truck boxes to look for? I know there more desirable car ones than others but don't know if it is the same in the truck boxes?

Anyone have any input on the subject?
Ummm.
It's a hard question to answer really. because you haven't been specific enough.
Better 2wd boxes than what?
What sort of truck?
Ask a specific question and you'll most probably get a specific answer.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
.
Since you're running big tires for mud/off-road but no hydraulic assist I'd think you would want to look at something from a bigger/heavier truck as opposed to the lighter pickup box. Do you have any local 4WD shops that do mods for severe off-road duty, like rock crawlers? I would think they could guide you to a good, heavy duty box that would fit your needs.
Just curious, why do you say you need a factory 2WD box? I was not aware that the steering boxes were different on a 2WD/4WD of the same model, and even if they are, why would you care? Again, just curious and not criticizing.
4wd boxes are a forward/backwards based off the drivers side knuckle and the 2wd boxes are left/right based off the passenger side knuckle. Hense the crossover part. It's less stress on the frame going left to right instead of forward and back all the time.
