no oil pressure when hot unless on the gas
i have an 88 camaro with a 2.8 i know camaro really shouldnt have a v 6. well back to the question. when i start it the oil pressure is about 80 then after about 5 mins. it goes to 20 the farther you go the more it drops pretty soon you have to hit the gas all the time to have any oil pressure what could be the problem i think it is the oil pump but i dont know really hopefully someone will know for sure.

nobody can tell you for sure what it is. if its a high mileage car then its probably normal ware and tare. it could be the oil pump but wouldn't be worth it just putting a pump in it with the rest of the motor wore out. put you a heavy weight oil in it and see if that helps for awhile. :HMMM:

that do kinda put a dif. light on the subj. but still it could be anything. it could very well be the pump, but there is on way to be 100% sure that i know of, but to put a pump in and see what happens. being rebuilt 10,000 miles ago makes it harder to diagnose, because it could be something they did that we wouldnt know about. its easer to diagnose a hi mileage motor than a rebuilt one.
no oil pressure when hot unless on the gas
i just dont want to spend anymore money then i have to i dont understand what is up with the car it was running great up untill two months ago. the good news is i havent heard any noise yet from it but it is harder to get up to speed when it drops. untill you get up passed 3 grand.

i know, but its just no way that anybody here can tell you for sure what it is. i never understood why GM would put that little motor in that car, just blows my mine. if you are loosing power because of no oil then something is fixing to lock up. you need to find out what it is. :o
