5.7 TBI engine.
Hello everyone, I just signed up on the fourms here. So here goes for first post.
I just finished putting my 83 Grand Prix back together and I put in an engine out of an 89 GM. It is a 5.7 liter SB chev TBI. I drilled a hole in the firewall and mounted the computer behind the glove compartment. Anyway, I want this thing to have some more torque and HP. What can I get away with on this engine? It was basically a brand new GM short block when I got it... 4-bolt main. It already has a higher output ignition system, air intake, light weight fan, and dual exhaust will go on this Monday. I have a true roller timing chain and gear set that I would like to put in, and I was also wondering if a cam change would be alright on this engine, also how can I get more air through those small TBI ports?
Anything other than this I will probably not do. I have a 4-bolt main 350 in the basement I have been working on building from the bottom up that will be the cars next engine.
-Thanks.
