trick flow heads
I am in the process of getting trick flow heads 23 dergee heads complete assembled. I going to install a comp xtreme 4x4 cam (.480") lift. Comp cams recommends that I buy thier valves springs and retainers? trick flows heads already come assembled with all of that. My question is, can I use the valve springs that come with the heads as long as when i order the heads I chose the right size valve springs to match my cam?

Check the specs (lift, pressure, etc.) for both sets of springs - or call Trick Flo and see how their springs work with your cam. Usually these aftermarket heads are designed for the cams that will work with them.Jack

Stock springs will work fine for a .480 lift cam, thats with their smallest spring, 23 deg heads are available with three spring sizes: 1.25" single for cams up to .480" lift, 1.47" single for cams up to .540" lift, and 1.46" dual for cams up to .600" lift.
But if ya aint bought em yet, the twisted wedge heads work LOTS better, IMOObjects in the mirror are losing

Yep, Henry Rifle is correct, and the sbc was the first, I replaced the 882's on the bucket with em, BIG difference, like a 100hp nos hit that never quitsI've had three sets of em on three different cars, all worked great.
Hard to see but heres the set on the bucket.Objects in the mirror are losing

Trick Flow is owned by Summit. They do still sell TFS heads, but I did not see the Twisted Wedge heads the last time I looked.
