Convert 305 to 350

I have a 1990 Trans Am GTA with a 305 that I am planning to rebuild eventually. I know I want a 350. I'm trying to decide on the following 2 options:

- Convert original 305 to 350
- Buy a new 350

what would someone with experience recommend?

I am also planning on turbo charging my small block. I'm aiming for about 450HP on the dyno.

You're going to have to get a 350, you can't bore a 305 that far.

If I want to make my car VERY similar to a Z06 corvette, what 350 would you recommend? I intend to use a turbo and intercooler. My car is about 1000 lbs heavier than a corvette.

(sorry, this doesnt really fit the subject)

RE 350

Look at Crate engines. You can pick up some pretty exotic ones at far less than it would cost to build yourself Here is a link for ya www.crateenginedepot.com Later DH

thanks for the info.

Can I use TPI on the ZZ4 engine? My car currently has a nice TPI system that I'd like to carry over (although it's suited to a 305), and i'm not sure if it will fit to the intake manifold of the ZZ4. Would I likely have to replace the intake manifold?

u can use the tpi on the zz4, but u have to get bigger injectors. maybe get the holley manifold(Stealth Ram).
