'83 chevy 305 mods for better hp
Hey Guys!
I'm totally new to this kind of thing, but from what i read on this forum, a 305 should not produce as much hp as a 350 because the pistons are smaller, producing less compression???
What about if i change the heads and end up with a tighter fit, would that work?
I went to some other website and they were experimenting with bolt-on, off the shelf parts and they ended up with more than 350hp and even more torque...not bad!
What is the bad rap for?
Anyone did a project with this motor and got good results?
Thanks!
Ps. Please no BS! I want infos. If your ego needs a boost, go flame someone else

This has been gone over and over many times. My 305 was bored .060 over to 315, new flat top pistons, new cam extreme energy cam XE262H-10 218-224 Dur. .050 .462-.469 Lift, new headers, new edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carb, new valve springs, lifters. Puts out close to 300HP and 308 torque.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
