I got this 71 nova and it seems so hard to keep it running. It spits and sputters when its out on the road (kinda cold). It only idles when hot. The motor is a 73 350 bored .40 over, 9.5 - 1 compression, comp cam 270h lifter set, 883 casting cylinder heads with 2.02/1.60 valves, z28 valve springs, aluminum full roller rocker arms 1.6 ratio, MSD ignition (box, coil, distributor). The intake is a Edelbrock tunnel ram with 2 holley 450 carbs, it is cooled by an electric cooling fan. It has a 3000 stall converter on trans and the rear end is a Auburn 4.11 posi. The jets in the carb are 2 sets bigger (richer) and the spark plugs are 2 levels colder becuz it is equipt with NOS. Last time i looked the timing was 12 degress before tdc. I dont know if thats what it should be with all of this stuff added on does anyone have a clue where it should be atleast close to? Also ive been trying to get a clue on how many horses this thing is putting out any rough geusses?
