need some blower info...
i want to add a blower to my 1956 pontiac..i just want a single 4 barrel blower...its got a fresh 350 chevy in it 4 bolt main double bump heads shaved to 60cc and factory style dished truck pistons...i was looking at the holley ones like the 144 or 177 or such and am not sure what to use...i was told i'm probably running 8.5 :1 compression i was told but not a 100% sure & the block isnt decked...i read over the charts and stuff in my catalog but wanted some advice on what i'm looking at, or experiences with these like how much boost i could run....if i get one i'll probably run a msd box that retards timming with boost...can anyone give me some info...
heres my cam specs if it helps...

The CR is not going to be the only determining factor when boosting. You will need to work with fuel supply, timing, quality of parts, exhaust and intake. Also, usually the psi persay is not what you have to worry about, it is the amount of power that boost will create. how much power are you looking for? Knowing that, someone may be able to help you and give you an idea of how much boost you need with that particular size/type blower.Father and son working to turn a '64 Falcon into a street and track monster.

well i'm not sure what i'm running now to be honest... it was a 350 4 boly main rebuilt a year ago has a 480 lift with 228 duration with double bump heads angled milled to 60cc with 1.94 & 1.60 ,with stock style cast dished pistons std deck height, crane 1.5 rollers rockers with an dual plane airgap intake fed by a carter comp carb, msd hei components, full length ceramic headers with flows...can anyone give me and idea it works well but i'd like it a little better... it pulls alot at 3,000 but lacksin the bottem end a bit....i've wanted to put one on to give me some extra power in the bottom end and midrange.. i looked at the centrifical style but there really pricey... and create more boost than i will probably need...so i was looking at the weiand singe 4 barrel blower but not sure wich one i should use...

Of course your present cam will work all right. A blower has a tendency to smooth out an overcammed engine, and they aren't as demanding of a special grind as people make out. They will make more power with a specifically designed cam, but the one you have will make a tremendous amount anyway.
Just in case......Happy Birthday Richard. .
