what are the specs. for small and large journals?
Large journal caps are a little taller and require a little longer stud. In 1968 the main bearing saddles were increased in size from 2.3" to 2.45", so if your block was manufactured before that, it's a small journal, after that it's a large journal.
Small journal cranks have a main diameter of 2.300" and a rod diameter of 2.000".
Large journal cranks have a main diameter of 2.450" and a rod diameter of 2.100".
thanks my block is a 89 i believe
