yeah ok. i might look the latter days for my engine building technique's but hows this for you......http://gassermadness.com/ss/hales1.jpg had a 301 in it
rather sucessful dontcha think?.... http://gassermadness.com/ss/hales2.jpg
  Must be a misprint Scooter, everybody knows small blocks aren't fast?????????!!  I'll bet it was really a 601, not a 301!!!!
Yes,but that was then this is now the year 2006 not 1966.The whole idea is to build an engine that turns less r.p.m.'s and makes h.p.The word is cycles. Why not build a larger engine that turns less r.p.m.'s?Quote:

:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: As far as smart *** or dumb ***, some people are dual qualified!!!!
Well, I actually preferred 1966!!! Small engines in light cars works great, too. When a car weighs 3700 pounds, ya gotta have a ton of torque just to get the slug moving!!!!!!
Two words "Powermax Diesel."Quote:

or maybe a 3106 Cat in a Bel Aire!!!!????
That is not quite what I had in mind but you get the general idea.Quote:

Scooter, back in the mid '60's there were a couple or so guys that used to come down to Lions from So. San Francisco running out of Champion Speed Shop to partake in the Top Fuel wars. They ran, of all things, a SBC. They weren't unbeatable, but they sure put a lot of 392 Hemi's to shame. If I remember correctly one or two of the half dozen or so defeats The Greer, Black, Prudhomme ever suffered was at the hands of that very wicked SBC. :D
Would I lie to a fellow as humble as Scooter? :DQuote:

Hell, Iv'e probably logged more time at Lion's, Irwindale, and OCIR than some of the people on this forum have been alive.
awesome, and thats what i try to say is that they may not beat em all but they can beat alot of em:toocool:
Should be interesting!!!! And ya know what else???? Last sprint car car race I went to I sure didn't see many big blocks their, either!!!! small cubes, light cars...big cubes, heavy cars. It's all a matter of it requiring X Ft. Lbs. of torque to accelerate X Lbs of weight......
and besides who says the rule of the game is higher hp at lower rpm's:LOL: when the other guy is at half track at 6500 and thats his top rpm i am still gloing all the way to 7500-8:3dSMILE: and yes dave i agree with you on your theroy
