Looks great Pat !!!! Is that a power stroke hone???? I don't see an amp gauge, how do you keep track of your cut??? or is it one of them new digital control units?????? Been out of the engine shop stuff about 15 years, you might have to update me on the new stuff!!!!!

if it worked then it will work now. esp with hi-po ignigtion stuff. im going to try and dig up some pictures of my dad's friend eddy's car from back in about 77-79 time all steel 55 and then he had a 56 sedan delivery the 55 had a 301 in it cross ram 4 speed ran 10.80's pulled 2 foot wheelies and shifted at 8+ in the sedan delivery had a hopped up 327 ran 11's dual 4's heavier car to. and i can also get you info on another 55 gasser from the 60's that had a 301 ran 11.0's 4 speed tunnel ram shifted at 8500+. lemme see if i can find the pictures and contact the guy that had that other 55. That's what I used to think too, Pat. Once I started running a CK-10 I never wanted to go back to manual honing. Once you get the hang of matching the amps to depth of cut, they're great!!! I would torque down the deck plates, mic the cylinders, then set the cut gauge on the hone and watch the amps to get the preferred finish. You can get the same reults manually, but the power hone was really neat in that you could set it to run, and be doing something else while it did all the work. Guess I was just spoiled. Visited the shop the other day, heck now they are doing most of the porting with CNC equipment!!! The accuracy is phenomenal!!!!!!

Hey Scooter, the date on your birth certificate doesn't have a whole lot to do with how your mind works!!!! Sometimes lots of years of experience only means you stopped learning!!!! Young fools can still learn, old fools are doomed!!!!!!

Oh heck yes!!!! It's a hundred times better then no honing table at all!!!! The thing is, the hone you have now will never be worth any less then it is now if it's maintained properly. Down the road you can always get your money back trading it in on a CK-10---or the new digital control one far as that goes.....

Another option, we used to lease a lot of our really hi-dollar equipment---if you have the volume the machine will make it's own payment........

Oh yeah, another one for Pat.... I just traded into a gorgeous old Sioux valve surfacing machine!!! It's about 40 years old and still in excellent condition....I'll have to get you some pics of it next time I've got the camera out in the shop. Thinking about getting one of the Ne-Way Seat cutters, friend of mine sells automotive machine tools and says he can get me a good deal. Can't seem to find anyone who will do valves the way I want them (maybe I'm too fussy?) so I guess I gotta go back to doing them myself!!!!

I like little motors, I ran 11.80s back in 1975 with a 302 Chevy in a 2700# vega and had a ball. To each his or her own. Russ

the hone is use to get the wall ready for the piston ring after you bore a block it will need to be honed .or a rering. the big machine is for decking blocks and head and intakes this has a big cutting wheel with teeth and you can slow it right down for a nice job. i have the b.hj. tru deck for it. that get the block right on the money with the cam and crank center line this will put the deck of the block were it should be
