'94 Suburban 350

I'm getting my 94 Suburban ready to take to my son who is in the army.
My question is what else would you recommend doing to the engine since he doesn't work on cars and it needs to be reliable. It has 216,000 miles on it and I just check compression and all 8 are around a solid 140. It has had a recent tune up, plugs, rotor, battery, fuel pump, air filter, tires, brakes, exhaust. It starts and runs good.

Anything else I should do before driving the 700 mile trip?

Also, what do I do with old gas? Had to pull the fuel tank to stop a line leak and has about 5 gallons of older, dirty gas. Is there somewhere to take it to recycle or a safe way of disposing of it?

spread it out in the dirt or on some weeds, it'll evaporate quickly.... and the EPA can just shut up about it.... because you're not actually damaging the enviroment....it came from the ground, you're just puttin it back where it came from.....

Yeah the crude comes from the ground but not off of the surface. It comes from 5,000 feet to over 30,000 feet deep. It is sealed in by various layers of rock and soil that keep it down there. If everybody poured there waste into the ground then in the future soil would not be able to sustain plant life and not to far under us is our water supply. If contaminates get into the water table guess what no more drinkable water.

Ok, last resort will be dumping or burning.....any other suggestions?
