All of the memos we have received from these respected Marine engine manufacturers were not written simply to entertain their engineers. They honestly feel the changes being made to gasoline will require us to deal with problems we have not seen before.

i back you fully on that, we get cars in the shop all the time with the same problems.... smog ratings even drop the older the gas is in the car.... i've seen quite a few people fail after they say that the car has been sitting a few weeks cause they needed to do this or that..... i pour 5 gallons of fresh gas in their car, retest and charge them an extra 2.5 for the diag

Good to see you fixed it up....all it needed was more prime!! It's amazing how much cranking you have to do to get the gas to fill the float bowls again. Good luck with it!!

Itoldyouso, I think I've agreed with you on just about every statement you've made sense you came on board, but on this gas thing, unless its a FL. thing, is just not true here in VA. the gas in my S10 is 4 mo old and it will crank on the first turnover every time. my brother has used cars on the back line that has been there over 6 mo. but they crank and run ok. the fuel y'all talking about is the way I used to remember it. maybe its a boat thing, or some of that water is getting in the gas tank. JMHO of course :HMMM: :) :)

If the fuel goes bad that soon, I'd be checking my supplier and the tank I bought it out of....... Selling bad gas certainly offers great job security for the area mechanics, anyway......

And if they are putting the new ethanol blend in a tank that has been in the ground a number of years, you haven't even begun to see the problems yet. Just like the tank in your car, 10% ethanol will definitely loosen up the crud that's been accumlating in the underground tank over the years...... I wouldn't blame the product until I checked out the supplier, I guess.

I agree, gas is just not a problem around here. there are fuel problems, but its the car not the gas. **)
