Small block starter recommendations

Guys, need some help. Repost as the old one didnt go through. Purchased a machined and clearanced block for a 383 stroker, assembled the unit, but found after about 6 starts the starter "offset mount" starts to bind up on the flexplate 168 tooth. I loosen and retighten and all is good for about 6 starts and itll start to bind up again. Dropeed the starter this morning and low and behold I find the outside pad has a crack through it going upwards. This explans why it keeps loosening off. My question is I know theres starters out there you can buy that use all three mounting points anyone know the brand or where I can get one from. Alternatively does anyone know how to fix this crack prior to it getting worse

Thanks for that, but problem is blocks atready cracked, if I add the brace thats fine itll help reduce downpressure later on but I need to fix my current problem. The outer ear if you want to call it that has the crack through it so I have to try and repair it or use the other two holes for mounting and this one, I remember seeing units that actually attach with all three mounting holes, there a lightweight reduction gear unit, can anyone remember who they are or where to get them from

Try www.summit.com. They carry a number of starters and some of them feature adjustable mounting blocks. If you can't find what you want online their phone line help is pretty good.

Found the units that use three mounting points there made by powermaster, nos 9426 and 9526, gonna try and find a local distributor now. Anyone know the tricks to welding a block up, I have access to tig,mig,oxy
