edelbrock aluminum heads clicking
I just got new aluminum heads on my 383 and while breaking it in I noticed there is a pretty loud clicking coming from under the valve covers. Just wondering if it might be something serious or if you normally hear the valves snapping shut or something, it does have a pretty lumpy cam.

I don't know what kind of lifters you are using; but, I have heard on more than one occasion that Rhodes variable lifters produce a very noticeable ticking noise when used. They supposedly produce more power than other leakdown lifters; but, evidently, one of the trade offs you get along with the extra power is the noise.
Other than that and the suggestion made by Erik, are you using the recomended springs? I wouldn't expect them to cause a ticking noise but it's just a thought. If the springs you are using are pretty stiff, I imagine you could cause the cam to not break in propperly and then end up with a ticking noise.
BTW, this is my hobby and I am by no means an expert. I may be way off my "rocker" here.
