4" bore block (327, 350) with a 3" crank (265, 283, 302),
well in that case it couldnt be a 350 block because the 283 cranks are small journal, so does that mean the motor im about to buy is a small journal 327? can anyone confirm this?
Can't see the parts from here, so can't confirm. If it's a small journal block with a 4" bore, then it's either a stock bore 327 block or a 283 bored 0.125". My buddy Ken says he once owned a 265 block that was bored to 4". That would be an overbore of 0.250". Maybe you can get some numbers off the block and research them. Go over it top to bottom and stem to stern and report the numbers you find on this thread.
From your post I guess the seller is telling you the engine is a 301? Does he have any proof of that other than his word?
Don
its either a 283 bored .125 or a 327 with a 283 crank which is actually a 302. trust me they both run good :D
