stroked 305 to a 334

Here is a sound clip of my 335" stroker. its in a 1981 GMC Caballero Diablo
its recorded in my carport, bit of an echo, few blasts to 6k. and idle

parts used:

400 crank, 350 rods, flat top pistons.
221 @ .050" 471" lift cam 108 LSA
fully ported and polished "416" castings, with larger 1.94" intakes
edelbrock torker singleplane intake with 600 vac. sec. carb
hooker super comp headers 2 1/2" into flowmaster 40's dumped before axle
th400 with 3000 stall convertor
3.73 auburn pro posi rear.

I have only driven the car 3 times on the street, weight is around 3100 lbs. No a/c or any ducting....fiberglass hood.....anxiously awaiting spring and summer to test at track. the car is very responsive, roasts the heck out of the tires 255 50r 15 bf goodrich comp t/a's. Pulls hard above 3500 rpm. The whole car was built on a tight budget by myself, the clearancing aspect must be done with care, especially the bottom of the piston below the pin boss to clear the counterweights on the crank....look for at least .040", and small base circle camshaft must also be used.

Very nice combo.

thanks.....timing was a bit of trial an error.....it likes 16 degrees intial and no vacuum advance hook up.

or u can use a stock 400 crank(3.75) and have the main machined down to fit the 305 block

Yes,you can have the mains turned down.
But why when you can buy a new crank for less than $250.

exactly, even in canada its way cheaper to buy a new crank than have a stock one mag'ed and turned....

because it wont cost as much and if your gonna buy a new crank you midaswell buy a good one dontcha think
