Which 383 stroker kit is the best?
Im currently building a 383 stroker and am not sure which rotating assembly to purchase. Ive heard good things about eagle but the scat assemblys claim to be stronger. The motor will be for street/strip (about 10.5:1 comp, 450hp/450tq) with a possible 150 shot of juice later on. I know i want SRP forged pistons and total seal gapless rings but am not sure on the eagle cast crank/ SIR I beam rod package or the scat cast crank/4140 rods. Scat claims their rods are better/stronger than the 5140 eagle I beams however ive heard many people say eagle is the best. Any experience or advice would be great as i cant wait to shred through some hefty meats!! Thanks, Eric!Supernova!

ive seen scat cranks and rods break in half and the rods bend like a corkscrewdoesnt seem like you'd need after market rods to go to 450 horse though....

If you are worried about it run a 4340 assembly.
In the engines I build if I get close to 750 on a sbc or about 900 hp on a bbc I
will try and buy American.

scat and eagle are made at the same place... then there shipped and both companys do there heat treat and final machine work. as for what one is better ???? i have never seen one of the 4340 cranks broke other then in a 440 and that was because of a fliudamper there junk!!!
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
