new vs. old style coil - interchangeable?
Is there any reason why an old style coil (long tube type), can or can't be changed in favor of the small square kind as found on new model fuel injected cars?

I don't know for sure but it makes sense that you could. Just make sure the new coil has the same voltage specs. as your old one.

there are many conversion wires availabe so you wont even have to hack your harness. Ask at any NAPARight engine, Wrong Wheels

Great. I think I will give this a try.
I plan on mounting the coil under the dash on the T-Rod and the smaller newer style coil will be easier to mount. This will help give a cleaner look on the engine side.
I actually have some of the late model wire harness plugs kicking around....so I might as well put them to good use.
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
How did you get hooked on cars?
