327 to the next level
Greetings,
Looking to take my '68 327 in a C-10 truck to the next level in horsepower.
Currently, running vortec heads with Comp Cam oval springs and roller tip rockers, a Comp Cam XE262 cam, headers, edlebrock aluminum dual-plane intake with JET stage II Q-jet carb, Petronics billet HEI distributor, and Keith Black hypernuematic 10:1 pistons, and balanced to 6500 rpm.
I run a manual 5-speed transmission with a 3.43 posi rearend. This is a daily driver and a lot of fun.
I want more horsepower and not concerned with gas mileage or idle quality.
I am a competent gear head and want to do the work myself.
I don't want to go turbo or NOS. I will save the blower for the next level.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ive got a blower setup on this site for sale

No replacement for displacement; run the same setup in a larger small block and more power you will find.

The blower is the next stage.
Thanks for the advice on displacement, but I want to keep the 327.

AFR 180 heads and a Lunati Voodoo 60103 cam should put you into the next level.

How do you like that comp 262 cam ?I have one in a 305 and it seems to like it ,no real road time yet ,how does your engine act with that cam ?

Very mild! Hardly notice any idle. Good power, has 36,000 miles. Recommend for any mild street application.
Looking to go to Comp Cam 280H with 480 lift. These vortec heads are stock except for beehive springs, so I dont want to go over 500 lift.
Nice truck!
