oil blowing out at high speeds

No matter when it starts---blow by comes from lack of cylinder sealing--a sraaight round hole with proper cross hatch and compatible rings in good ring lands will control blowby

If it is smoke or oil residue/leaks after camchange----look for proper sealing intake manifold around intake ports, front / rear seals---oil pan leaks--front crank seal----on a cam change you have created an oppurtunity for oil problems at every mating surface except the head gaskets( unless you removed them for spring or valve work)

Guess I found the problem as I did put heavier springs in so now I'll check my head gasket as everything else you mentioned has been checked and rechecked with just one minor thing. That being I have a small leak in my pan. Thanks for the advice.

well you could be getting oil wicking thru the intake bolts if there is no sealer on them if oil is sitting in the low parts of the intake ? if blowing out like said the breather are oil wet and if you put new valve springs in did you use the O rings or a pc valve seal if you used the o ring with out the tin shedder that sit on top of the spring this helps keep some of the oil out if you used a pv seal the rigid chimneys work the best .as for rings hone job round holes this is a big deal but if it was not doing it be for it should be still sealing up ?but you could of burnt down the side of a piston if so it will blow oil

no they are keith eickert valve covers on a set of 502 i have been reworking :D

I agree that's certainly not a radical cam,so i suspect the baffle is ineffective inside your valve cover. I agree with Pat that tall tube mounted on the valve cover would help keep the oil splashing off your rockers from coming up and saturating your breather filter. Oil fill extensions can be found on quite a few pickups or larger series trucks. If you like shiny stuff,you might try the plumbing dept at Home Dopey or places like that and cut down a chromed j-pipe for your extension. I always use their chromed water fill lines for my pcv and power brake vacuum lines. Hank
