Just thinkin' again....I know, I know.....
If I have a Holley Blue fuel pump on my car, do I need a mechanical one as well? I bought a blockoff plate but now I'm wondering.

No, the electric pump will provide all the pressure and volume you need. Run minimum 3/8" supply and return lines with a good pressure regulator mounted in the return line. Set the pressure with the motor running to 5 psi. There is no way that any current carburetor needs more than 5 psi if there is a good sized line to provide volume. Any pressure over that will, depending on the ability of the needle and seat to control pressure, overpower the needle and seat and result in an over-rich, hard-to-tune condition. Let me repeat this....
5 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH MAXIMUM PRESSURE AT THE CARB INLET.
Don't throw the old pump away, you'll want it when the third or fourth electric one cashes in on the freeway in rush hour traffic. Been there, done that!
I've never had an electric pump cash in. Guess I've been lucky. All of my cars use S-W 12 volt pumps and they seemed to go on forever. They used to be less than $50 per pump, but last I saw one they have nearly doubled in price. I do carry one as a spare, just in case. :D
I’ve installed this filter up near the carb (on the firewall) as I want to be able to change the filter easily. It’s available at the address noted below and is $70. It is easy to service and does not require a cartridge, rather has a reusable mesh filter that can be cleaned with a shot of carb cleaner.

Sorry - last post was supposed to be in the "fuel Filter" forum..
No problem I was just looking at that, it looks better than my canister.
