Scat 9000 cranks
Scat 9000 cast cranks has anybody used them and if so what do you think? Going in a 305 sbc it is for a 305 class so please dont start in on the 305 I know it is not supposed to be a high horsepower motor but we have a blast. I contacted Scat they tell me the 9000 is good for up to 600 horse up to 7500 rpm.
Will be combining that with a set of scat I-beams with 3/8 cap screws, KB forged pistons, totalseal moly rings, Air gap RPM intake, 600 Double Pumper mech sec. EQ heads for a 305 1.90-1.60 valves, MSD 6AL Box and Dist. 1 5/8 into 3 inch shoenfield mod headers.
Will be run in a 2400lb Dirt car Basically a Northern Sportmod with a 34 Ford Fiberglass body on it. 350auto tranny with a moser full floater 5.29 gear running in 2nd for a final of about 7.80
Generally turn 6700 RPM with the tires we run.
What cam does everyone suggest no there is no lift or vacume rule it may be a Hyd, or a solid, no roller.
I wore a camouflage T-shirt once. The response in the pub was "Oooh, it's a floating head!" .
