I got problems. I started my 350 and it will not idle or run right. I have readjusted the valves and the timeing. I pulled my plugs and they are burnt bad. It sounds to me like fuel problems or carb problem. Any ideas
Thanks

Vacuum leak.
What color are the plugs?
Yep, probably a vacuum leak. Got a propane soldering torch? Blow propane around the carb base, manifold gaskets, etc. If it rev's up, you've found it. Ether works too, or WD40.
The plugs are black and on some it looks like there still pritty wet. If you have the cam 180* off will the motor even fire. I am 99.9% sure it isnt but my father in law continues to say thats the problem keep in mind he hasnt even looked at it.

The motor has an internal vacuum leak. It's sucking fumes from the crankcase into the intake runners because you don't have a good seal at the bottom of the intake manifold. Read this procedure to correct.....

These heads and block were matched up in a running pair not long ago the only thing that was done to them was block was bored head heads rebuilt. Can this still be a problem tech?

Pretty easy to solve. Pull the intake and see if you're getting a pinch on the gaskets top to bottom and end to end.
Cool deal I will give it a try and see what I come up with.
Thanks

It was the carb. I went and got a carb off a friends car and slapped it on there and she ran like a charm. Thanks for all the help.
