I need SBC Help
I am replacing the crank in a 1987-1995 SBC 350 and it has a 305 crank in it...should i go back with a 305 crank or 350...i heard throught the grape vine that there IS a differance on the cranks even though there the same stroke...its the counter weights that are different, what really sucks is that the engine has be balanced...please help

I wish you guys would tell the whole story when you post a new thread.
Why do you need to replace the crank?
Was the motor in balance with the 305 crank?

The end of the crank is messed up where the harmonic bal. bolts on (pretty bad)...yes the motor was balanced with the 305 crank...i'm thinking of ordering a scat 9000 crank but dont know which one

Yes, there is a difference between the 305 and 350 cranks. If you have the balance sheet for your engine, call Scat and they can probably balance the crank to the same "bob" weight as your 305 crank.
When you call Scat ask for Brian.:D
