horsepower estimate please

Ive got a 84 camaro that i am about to put together. I had a motor built for a 4 wheel drive while back but decided to put it in the camaro since i scored a t-5 pretty cheap. I am just curious about how much power this engine should make. Here's what i got in it.

355 cid with stock crank and rods and dished pistons, not sure how dished, but the guy said it was making around 10 to 1 compression.

engine quest vortec conversion heads, not ported, 1.94intake 1.5exhaust valves.

elgin 327/350 horse cam. 1.6 jegs brand roller rockers

edelbrock performer rpm, not the air gap. holley 700 cfm double pumper and holley 80 gph mechanical fuel pump

jegs streetfire distributer with 42,000 volt coil, vacum advance and it said its got a different curve"not too familiar with curve kits"

hooker shorty headers with 1 5/8 primaries and 2 1/2 collectors and a hooker high flow y pipe

275-300 and the carb is too big- imho

Thats it? No disrespect, but i think i would like to try to get a few more opinions. I met a guy last summer with the same car and combo except he was using a 305. His car ran a 14.28 at the track.

Anyone else have any estimates?

That is about the time my stock 86 mustang runs and it is 240 hp ,soo 300 would be a fair guess on your engine.

The 275-300HP estimate is probably close. The Holley DP is a great carb, but 700cfm is probably too much for 355.

The 1894 Camaro weighs about 3200 pounds. With fuel and driver figure about 3500 pounds. To run a 14.3 at 100mph would need 250-275 horsepower, which would be "do-able", even from the 305 with the Vortec heads and a good intake/cam combo. I would question the 700cfm on the 305 - certainly too much carb and I would imagine that bogged a bit until about 3000 RPM.

You would have Right around 9.5.1 with Steel Shim .016" Head Gaskets . This Engine if Tuned Right can Make up to 360 H.P . Good Heads For that Set up Good Intake the 1.6 Rockers add to that Camshaft's Lift That 700 D/P will work Fine Stock 350's Had 750CFM Q-Jets and they work real Well ;)

im cranking out around 400 hp.

that hp works good with my Z28

Early day stock 350 with Flat top piston with 64 CC Heads and stock cam put out 300HP.

300-350 hp estimated via Desktop Dyno.

Thanks for the input everyone. My main concern is the t-5. I heard that they are no workhorse.

I have torn up 3 T-5 trannys in my truck with 327 ci 400 hp and 3:42 gears and Eagle tires. I now sport a TKO 600 and listen to them eagles scream!
