Hi everyone, I have a couple questions about putting a chevy 350 engine in an 87 cutlass supreme. First would be motor mounts.What motor mounts do I need? Anyone ever try this type of change? I am noticing also that the fuel line going from the tank to the pump are different too. The olds fuel pump has two inlets connected from rubber hoses while the fuel pump that came with the crater 350 only has one threaded inlet. Thanks to anyone who can help me out.
most likely a little junkyard searching will find you a cutlass with a chevy motor from the factory .. just get those mounts and you probably can get a chevy fuel pump with dual lines .. one would be inlet and the other a return line .. but i have been known to be wrong ..
Or another option would be to run a fuel pressure regulator with a return port, and route the return from the regulator thru the OEM return line.....
As for the mounts, did one of these years ago and just used the mounts out of a G body Monte, welded the frame mounts to the crossmember and used the stock Monte motor mounts on the engine. Just install the engine with both frame and engine mounts bolted on the engine and trans bolted on the engine, set it in the chassis straight and level with the trans bolted to the crossmember then weld or bolt the frame mounts to the crossmember.
mounts bolt to frame .steel clam shells bolt to engine and are all about the same for 1980 up v8 chevys .your frame is GM G body same as monty malibu el camino of the same year so its a bolt in job holes should be there in frame cross over
