heater valve question
My car has a heater valve? And its leaking.
Can I (with longer heater hose) do away without it?
? Will my heat and defrost still work ?
thanks to all: who helped me with uploading pics.........................."If it dosen't run, chrome it"

If you do away with the valve you will have full, uncontrolled heat at all times. That valve is normally closed, and modulates open based on your heat temperature selection. Buy a new valve, or visit the pick & pull and hope you find one that does not leak.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

NAPA has some universal style heater valves with shut offs.

Hey 40chevy you might check with vette2vett. I have use them before in the past and had good service. I would replace it myself never know when heat or the defroster will be needed.

I just replaced the one on my DD, an F350 w/V10, a fairly rare motor for '06. The cost was less the $50 from NAPA and was in stockDave W
I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug
And then a newer model....
