Riddle me this
I recently finished a build of a 400 sbc for my 68 camaro it has side pipes, when I stand in front of it both sides of the motor are making different lopes / sounds...... Is it normal I have had the car 16 years and the pipes 14 and I don’t ever remember it being so obviously different but this is my most radical build to date.

Ideals at 900 and its snappy / i took it up to the chasi dyno and it made 405 hp to the rear wheels at 5300 RMP and and like 450 LBTQ at 4700 to me this seems really low on the RMP scall i wanted a 7000 rmp motor, My first thought was the lifter but i ajusted them a second time this time hot with no change. Im just stumped.

i been putting off putting the cam to straight up, you think 1.6 rocker would be better

yep 1.6 plus set the cam straight up or even retard a degree or so if you want to move the curve higher
You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
