building a 383 stroker
Hey guys,
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with a brand new build of my 383 stroker? I Pulled my 350 4 bolt main from my 67 el camino, disassembled it and had it machined to a .40 over. Right now Im trying to figure out what rotating assembly to buy along with a cam and heads. Here's what my goal is. I want to build a motor that kicks me back in my seat when i punch it and takes off (It would be nice to put my snotty neighbor with his souped rice rocket in his place). I have a 700R4 race tranny to go with it. Im obviously looking for the horsepower and even more looking for the torque. obviously there are plenty of kits out there I can buy but my dilemma is I would also like the car to be practical. I plan on driving it 60 miles a few times a week round trip to work and back. At this stage in the build I need to buy a rotating assembly. any suggestion on a good quality kit I should buy? Im not looking for a compression of 9 or 10 seeing that I want it to be practical. goal is to have horspower and torque in the low 400's. Am i crazy or is this possible?
Ditto on the model kits! My best were lost when the Hobby Shop burned under suspicious circumstances....
