355 vortec
Im in the process of building a 355 vortec with high compression(10.79-1). I have a 480 lift cam 110 lobe seperation. I need a intake and carb. What would be a good carb and intake for this combo?

Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and either a Holley 750 cfm vacuum secondary carb (if you have an automatic transmission) or double pumper (if you have a manual transmission). Or you could also choose an Edelbrock 750 cfm. It all depends which brand of carburetor you prefer. Either one will require some tuning.

What are the complete cam specs?
What vehicle?
What intended purpose?
What rear gear?
0.480" lift is pretty mild. If the rest of the cam specs are this mild, I'm guessing you have a mismatch of parts. 10.79:1 will require a cam with somewhere around 235-240 degrees duration, operating from 3200 to 7000. Do you intend to operate on pump gas with iron heads at 10.79:1? If so, you may be in for a rude awakening.
Now, to answer your question, an Edelbrock RPM intake mounting a 750 carb. Vacuum secondaries if you are using an automatic trans with converter stall at 3000 or less. Double pumper if the trans is manual or the converter stalls at 3000+. (Lynn was posting while I was typing)Last edited by techinspector1; 02-13-2013 at 04:38 PM.
