Bought a set of sbc heads form a guy that said they were off a running 327 and they would work for a 350.
I get home and look up the casting number (14022601) which shows up as from 79-86 267/305 with 58cc chambers.
I took a chance cause I know the guys family,,, I still have his number and am trying to decide to tell him I want my $$ back.

Well, if you cant say anything good, dont say anything....OK, the heads have bolt holes in the ends for accessory mounting, that's good. Hmmm, something else good.....the thin wall casting makes for light weight. One more....late model 4 bolt valve covers fit. Oh, the realy small chambers result in high compression on a 350.
I have a list of Chevy Big and Small Block head and block numbers in my wallet, for just this occasion. I passed on set of 327 "Corvette" heads at an auction a few years ago. I knew they weren't because I looked up the number. If I had a cell phone that did the internet thing I would get rid of the sheets and just look up this site:

It all depends on your goals for your 350,the higher compression will gain you some HP your RPM power band will fall off above 5K with those so if you pick a Cam for low end and mid-range and an intake like a Performer or Weiand Street Warrior and about a 600 CFM Carb you will have a decent street cruiser,it is a common swap if you have a limited budget.
I would REEEAAAAALLLY have to need a set of heads to buy those losers. How much long green did you shell out for them? The guy ought to be paying you to haul 'em off.
