Steel roller tipped rockers hitting spring retainers
I have a gen 1 95-00 350 block with rear pad # 10243880. It is a roller block, but I am running a hydraulic flat tappet cam. Iwas running 69-327 heads and began having rocker issues, constantly having to adjust them. I put some roller tipped rockers on and still had the same problem. Immediately after christmas I redid the top end, double roller Cloyes chain 96 swirl port heads, and a howards cam and lifters. Cam is.480 valve lift, and 288 duration with a 108 lobe center. I am still having the lifter bang after installing another set of new self aligning steel roller tipped rockers, and new stock length push rods. When near a curb, or another vehicle it is very noticable. I pulled # 2 exhaust rocker and saw that it is hitting the spring retainer. The rockers are from Assault Racing which may be my problem. Steel tippped roller's with poly locks. When adjusting the rockers I can barely get the socket on top of the poly lock with out dropping it down inside and stalling the engine.
Is it possable to put the stock 1.5 rockers back on with this cam, or will the slots be too short.
Any advice would be appreacited!!
