283 crank
I feel stupid asking this, but I really don't know what to do about it. I have an old 283 sitting in my garage that I just started to tear down. When I bought it 4 years ago it was all taken apart. Well, I stood the crank up in the corner of my garage and covered it up. I went to get it yesterday and it has a nice coat of rust on it. Do I have to replace it or is there something I can do to still use that one. I know now I should have slapped some grease on it before I stored it.

You should be able to rent a bead blaster at most any tool rental place. I'm unshure on where you can get somthing superfinished but, I'd check a machine shop and, ask them if they can do it.You don't know what you've got til it's gone
