Help with 305 camshaft
I have a 76 monte with a 305 2bbl, 19000 miles, Too young of a motor to pull out. I live where theres a lot of hills. I want to change the dome and carb. The cam in the car is a 176-194 duration, 350-385 lift -18,14 intake 28,-14 exhaust with a 109 lsa. The only thing I understand is intake valve closeing and beeing at 14 degrees to aid in low compression cylinder pressure. All of the cams I've seen for the wimpy 305 heve 25 to 28 degree intake closeing. Can someone help here, I seem to see that those cams would lower my cylinder pressure

The spec I got were for the 305 at .050. The compression is 8.5:1 I thank you for your reply. To add a little more, the stock cam closes at14 degress after botton dead center but the overlap will bleed off a bit more compression at 109 lsa. So a 25 degree close and a 112 lsa with less overlap could have the same dynamic compression as the 109 lsa cam
I finally fixed that annoying noise in the car. I just opened the door at 60mph and pushed him out. .
